About Us
FINEAid is an independent, neutral, and impartial humanitarian organization committed to protecting and supporting individuals and communities affected by prolonged humanitarian crises and systemic marginalisation. Operating in both international and non-international contexts, we uphold humanitarian principles to provide assistance, rigorous research, amplify voices through digital storytelling, advocate for the rights of affected populations, and foster long-term solutions.
Our work is guided by the principles of humanity, neutrality, independence, and impartiality to ensure that we reach those in greatest need without discrimination.
Founded in 2020 by Usman Abba Zanna, a humanitarian journalist deeply moved by the prolonged humanitarian crisis in Northeast Nigeria fuelled mainly by Boko Haram terrorism conflict. Covering conflict, displacement, and human suffering in the Lake Chad region, Usman witnessed firsthand the devastating consequences of ideological extremism and conflict on communities. The widespread destruction, mass displacement, and loss of livelihoods drove him to take action. Determined to contribute beyond storytelling, he founded FINEAid to provide direct support, research platform, amplify the voices of affected populations, and advocate for justice and resilience in conflict-affected regions.
Our Mission
Our mission is to combine rigorous research, digital storytelling, targeted advocacy, human capital development, and direct humanitarian assistance to protect and empower individuals affected by conflict, displacement, and systemic marginalization.
We strive to provide support, empower, amplify the voices of those in crisis, and drive policy changes that promote protection, dignity, resilience, and long-term solutions for affected persons and communities.
Our Vision
A world where every individual and communities impacted by any form of humanitarian crises has access to justice, protection, and opportunities to rebuild their lives with dignity. We envision inclusive and resilient communities where the rights and voices of the marginalized are recognized, and sustainable solutions are promoted.
